Our products are also suitable for private labelling and range from tablets, capsules, powders, liquids to the cutting-edge liposomal technology in order to guarantee better biocompatibility and absorption.

Getting the right dose of vitamin C everyday is essential for our body as it is not able to store this vitamin due to its water-soluble nature. It is highly soluble in water and sensitive not only to heat, but also to light and air. For the above-mentioned reasons, a water-soluble vitamin overdose is highly unlikely as vitamins can be easily expelled through body fluids.

Vitamin C, also known as ascorbic acid, may be suitable to treat scurvy as well. As a matter of facts, deficiency in vitamin C due to an intake of less than 10 milligrams per day causes scurvy in adults and Barlow’s disease in children. Scurvy is a condition characterised by diffuse haemorrhage, resulting in anaemia, and deterioration in physical performance.

Scientific studies have determined that vitamin C recommended daily intake is about 90 milligrams for men and about 80 milligrams for women, who need to increase their dose during pregnancy. However, no more than 2 grams should be consumed everyday as higher doses might lead to diarrhoea, nausea and vomiting, insomnia and other disorders.

Given that vitamin C is an essential substance which our body cannot synthesise by itself, we necessarily need to get it from external sources. It can be found mainly in fruits, especially in citrus fruits, kiwis and strawberries, and in vegetables such as peppers, broccoli, spinach and cabbage. Once the ascorbic acid is ingested, it takes part in different functions within our body: it is involved in the synthesis of collagen, steroid hormones and bile acids. It is also involved in the production of red blood cells as it plays a role in iron metabolism. The ability to boost the immune system and antioxidant properties are other important characteristics of vitamin C.
